Harvey Morris (Incumbent)- I was employed by the city of Westminster for forty-five years as a Code Enforcement Officer. I have also been a member of Westminster Federal Credit Union (WFCU) for forty-five years, serving on the Credit Committee for two of those years, and as a member of the Board of Directors for forty-three years.
For the last seventeen years, I have served as the Chair of the Board. I enjoy volunteering my time to WFCU and believe strongly in keeping our credit union stable and successful.
During challenging economic times, the credit union needs a stable board to ensure its financial future. If re-elected, my continuing goal will be to use my financial and credit union director skills to assure that your credit union will remain financially healthy with expanded services.
William (Bill) Work (Incumbent)- I am currently on the Board of Directors and have served in that capacity for the last 20 years. I currently serve as the Vice Chairperson. During this time the Credit Union has tried to provide our members with the latest services and conveniences. A few examples of these services include mobile banking, remote deposit capture, a more simplified loan application process, and Shared Branching that allows our members to use any credit union in the country that participates in the Co-Op/shared branching network. Our financial ratios are showing that our members are getting the loans they need and that there is trust in the security of our Credit Union. Considering the problems experienced and caused by the banking industry in the past, it shows our members can have full faith in their Credit Union and in how it is being run.
Previously, I served six years on the Westminster Federal Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee, four years as the Chairperson. As the Chairman for the Supervisory Committee, I oversaw the numerous audit functions required to help assure a sound financial institution. I have been a member of the WFCU for over 47 years. I retired five years ago as the Deputy Chief of Administration for the Westminster Fire Department. I served for the Westminster Fire Department for over 45 years. I am also currently the President of the Legacy Ridge West HOA consisting of over 600 homeowners. I mention these experiences in that I think they make me well qualified to provide direction and to serve our members. I believe in “Service Before Self.” Our Credit Union is always facing challenges that need to be met if we want to stay relevant for our member’s financial needs. Pandemics, world strife, erratic financial markets, political divisiveness, and ever-changing regulatory requirements require the WFCU to have consistent and sound leadership.
In partnership with our CEO, it is imperative that the Board of Directors show unity and leadership to make the right decisions and positive changes for the members. If re-elected I will continue to firmly support our membership and employees and the Credit Union’s mission to educate the membership, utilize sound financial practices, promote financial responsibility, and to provide the latest services at competitive rates and terms, while maintaining long-term stability and confidence in this institution. This is your Credit Union.
